Zonguru Chrome Extension is a convenient and powerful way to do your research and works with all the other tools covered in our Zonguru Review.
We found the process of finding your first Amazon product, or adding the next product to your Brand takes time. And, like any decision on Amazon it really all comes down to understanding accurate market data. Then considering customer feedback, and doing some design innovation.
You can do all of that with the help of your Zonguru account. Even so, most Amazon sellers, research usually starts with logging on to Amazon. Then simply searching various products looking for ideas
Before Zonguru, about the only thing you could see was how individual products ranked and the strength of their customer reviews. Not any more:
The Zonguru Extension fires up when you go to Amazon.
It sits in the bottom corner, along with the Alibaba interface.
With a single click, the Chrome extension provides you with up to date data. An overview about both the product and the Niche you are looking at. It is a convenient, powerful time saver and it is Free with any Zonguru subscription.
Using the Zonguru Chrome Extension
Simply type in the product you are interested in and do a normal Amazon search. In this example I am searching for Electric Shavers.
All I do is scroll through the Amazon listings. Zonguru provides a table which both evaluates the niche, and allows me to see which products are getting the best results.
The first thing you notice is the rainbow- like graphic with the Niche Score.
This score indicates how well a niche is operating on the Amazon Platform. It balances demand, competition, revenue and level of investment needed. Basically, it assesses the viability of the Niche. The higher the score the more viable the Niche.
The remaining numbers represent an average of the products on the Amazon page you are looking at.
With real-time data straight from Amazon, you can see the search volume and monthly unit sales for this product. There is also the average sales price, and the average monthly revenue for the products on this page.
Next are details on the volume of reviews these products have attracted and the average star rating as well.
Zonguru Launch Budget
The Niche rating, and suggested Launch Budget are a top-level review of the Niche. So you know what it is going to take to successfully enter this market. Primarily this estimate relates to the inventory levels etc that you need to fund, to generate enough sales each day to be featured on the page you are looking at.
You don’t always need to be on Page 1 to have a successful product. But you do need to balance your expectation for revenue, with your ability to remain in-stock and selling.
If you cannot meet the suggested launch budget for the level of business you hope to generate, move on to the next niche.
Individual Competitor data
Scroll down the Zonguru table. You can see the data for each of the products, with the top 3 performers highlighted.
View each product in the Amazon results in the top window. You can start to evaluate just what is making that item successful. Is it driven by price, better images, more attractive design, eye catching colors etc.
To make the process easier you can have the Zonguru Table open in a new window. This leaves the Amazon results page fully available for easy review.
Customize your Chrome Extension on the go
Zonguru Niche Rater instantly filters out the sponsored listings but distortions can still occur.
Because Amazon runs on “keywords”, products unrelated to your idea can show up in the search results. These distort your Niche score, top level results, and your research.
Simply remove the tick in the green box to the left of that product, and refresh the page. Now you see corrected results more closely related to your idea. All the top level data automatically adjusts to reflect the new list of products.
In addition, Zonguru Chrome extension gives you 15 customizable filters to refine your searches.
If the competition on page 1 is too tough, and launch budget too high, simply go to page 2, (and beyond) and repeat.
You might find you can compete at lower levels, and volumes may still be high enough to make your idea very profitable. Let the Zonguru data guide you.
Comparing Niches with the Zonguru Extension
Your search results can be downloaded as a CSV file.
So, with a research spreadsheet you can easily capture this data. Then compare the Niche scores, demand, revenue, ratings and Launch budgets of the niches you are thinking about.
This way, your decisions based on factual, real data direct from Amazon.
The Zonguru Chrome extension or Niche Rater (as it is also known), helps you to avoid endless hours spent researching products and Niches which you simply cannot afford to compete in.
Better still it helps you find the niches where you might succeed in your Amazon business.
Once you have found some Niches you can afford to compete in, use the tools in your Zonguru subscription to fully explore these niches, and potential suppliers as well.
Can you compete Profitably
As I mentioned, Zonguru has access to huge amounts of data from Amazon.
Using that data, you can get a quick profit guide for any product.
Just click on the Profit Calculator (under actions) beside the product to see an estimate of how profitable that product is, either sold via FBA or delivered by the merchant.
